Orr, Dignam & Co is the oldest law firm in Bangladesh. The Head office of Orr, Dignam & Co, Bangladesh is located in Dhaka and has its branch offices at Chittagong and Khulna. The firm has 17 lawyers with 32 staff members as backup support in the three offices.  The firm was headed by Late Mr. M. Hafizullah, Senior Advocate of Supreme Court of Bangladesh, who was enrolled in the then High Court of East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) in 1966 upon passing the Chambership examination and securing first position and who practised in both the High Court Division and the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and was the President of the Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association for 1994-95 and he was the Legal Adviser to His Excellency, the British High Commissioner in Bangladesh since 1982. He is one of the authors of “Arrest of Ships” Volume 5 published by Lloyds of London Press Ltd in 1987.After the passing way of Mr. M. Hafizullah on 25th April, 2019 the firm is now being headed by his son Mr. Muhammad Ohiullah, Barrister-at-law and his daughter, Ms. Nasreen Hafiz, Barrister-at-law. Mr. Muhammad Ohiullah is a Law Graduate from the University of Southampton, England and a Barrister from Inner Temple, London, England who practises in the High Court Division and Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and deals with commercial, maritime, customs, insurance and intellectual property matters and he is currently the Legal Adviser to His Excellency, the British High Commissioner in Bangladesh.Mr. Muhammad Ohiullah is a Law Graduate from the University of Southampton, England and a Barrister from Inner Temple, London, England who practises in the High Court Division and Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and deals with commercial, maritime, customs, insurance and intellectual property matters and he is currently the Legal Adviser to His Excellency, the British High Commissioner in Bangladesh.Ms. Nasreen Hafiz is a Law Graduate from the University of London, England and completed her Bar Vocational Course from Cardiff Law School and is a Barrister from Inner Temple, London, England who also deals with commercial, maritime, customs,insurance and intellectual property matters and also handles preparation and review of international contracts and agreements.Both Mr. Muhammad Ohiullah and Ms. Nasreen Hafiz have worked with their father Mr. M. Hafizullah in Orr, Dignam & Co, Bangladesh since 1997.Orr, Dignam & Co, Bangladesh also handles commercial and corporate matters and incorporation of companies, preparation of joint venture agreement, banking, insurance and aviation matters. Orr, Dignam & Co, Bangladesh acts as the Legal Correspondent of almost all the Protection and Indemnity (P&I) Clubs throughout the world.
