How to Obtain an Export Registration Certificate in Bangladesh
The Export Registration Certificate (ERC) is mandatory for any business entity that desires to export permissible domestic goods from Bangladesh without restrictions on value and quantity. The legal basis for this certificate is found in The Export Policy Order 2015-2018.
Required Documents for Issuance of ERC:
- Passport-sized photograph of the applicant
- Valid Trade License
- Valid Membership Certificate from a regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry or relevant Trade Associations
- Citizenship Certificate of the applicant
- Treasury Challan
- TIN Certificate
- Partnership Deed (if applicable)
- Certificate of Incorporation, Memorandum, and Articles of Association (if applicable)
- Financial Solvency Certificate
Procedure:
- The applicant is required to collect the ERC application form from the CCI&E office or the CCI&E website.
- Submit the filled-in form along with the supporting documents to the Dispatch Section of the CCI&E office.
- Deposit the registration fee and the cost of the passbook at Bangladesh Bank or Sonali Bank, and collect three copies of the Treasury Challan.
- Submit the filled-in application form, supporting documents, and Treasury Challan at the CCI&E office.
Time Limit:
- The estimated processing time for issuance of the ERC is four to five working days.
Renewal of ERC:
The ERC must be renewed annually. The required documents for renewal are:
- Original copy of the ERC and ERC Passbook
- Treasury Challan
The applicant must arrange the above-mentioned documents and deposit the annual renewal fee at Bangladesh Bank or Sonali Bank.
Time Limit for Renewal:
- The estimated processing time for renewal of the ERC is also four to five working days.
